Florentinian Art at the Age of Dante (1250 - 1300)
The aim of this exhibition is to delineate the sculpture, architecture and painting during the formation period of florentinian art. We can admire foreign artistic objects, as the english-producted Santa Maria Novella crucifix, or the Viking sword arrived in
Tuscany from Costantinople, or else the Saint Cross, given to Fra Mansueto of the franciscan convent of Castiglion Fiorentino, by Louis XI of France. We can also see masterpieces as the Annunciazione, coming for the first time from the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and unpublished pieces of the Main Cathedral and
Santa Croce complexes, which witness the innovating genius of Arnolfo di Cambio, sculptor and architector. |
